About Bruce M. Young

Mr. Young is a Cum Laude graduate of The City College of the City University of New York’s combined BA/JD program. Mr. Young graduated from New York Law School in 1984 at the age of 23. He worked throughout law school and began his career concentrating on the defense of medical malpractice and products liability cases. Placing a strong emphasis on the technical and engineering aspects raised by the cases he defended, Mr. Young became a partner in a Madison Avenue defense firm before the age of 30.  After a 17 year career defending high exposure cases for New York’s major medical institutions and product manufacturers he co-founded Babchik and Young, LLP in 1999. He has extensive trial experience in the State and Federal Courts in the State of New York concentrating in the areas of:

• Insurance Defense
• Professional Liability
• Products Liability

• Construction Litigation
• General Liability Defense
• Nursing Home Liability Defense

In addition to leading the firm’s trial practice Mr. Young heads up the firm’s crisis response and management team.  That group is responsible for providing risk and crisis management services for the firm’s clients – leading on site/work site investigations and coordinating with the agencies having jurisdiction over large scale accidents including the MTA, NYCHA, DOT, NYC Department of Buildings, and OSHA. Mr. Young has a thorough understanding of the applicable rules, regulations and codes – as well as the procedural framework that can best be used to control the investigative process and protect the integrity of the firm’s clients. By limiting exposure and securing the “raw data” at the outset the team develops the best defense for the client.

An instrument-rated pilot with endorsements for high performance and complex aircraft as well as “upset-training” experience, Mr. Young brings the technical expertise and precision required for professional flight from the cockpit to the legal arena.
